I mean just look at it, it's amazing.
Not only am I an Indiana Jones fan, I have my own adventurous spirit, and even though this is a paleontology set, I see all kinds of possibilities! I also love that the journal reflects some of the many dinosaur digs in Alberta. The little tools are amazing and so well done. And the clothes are so well made! I love this set so much and I say well done Maplelea, again!
I love paleontology and dolls, so of course I bought this set. I was happy to find the quality is amazing, the hammer is even real metal and rubber! The journal pages are also great, and it's clear that real research was put in (they're very accurate to both paleontology and Drumheller). I can't recommend this set enough!
The paleontologist kit is fantastic! It comes with all you need to create an adventure with your doll or take photos too capture the perfect picture. The items are well made and will impress any dinosaur fan.
The thing that most drew me to this set is the rock hammer, which is a tiny miniature of my real-life Estwing hammer. It's even made of real metal with a rubberized handle. Taryn can even hold it. I love it. I also love love love the t-shirt and the socks and I wish I had grown-up-sized versions of both. All the clothes are well-made, as usual from Maplelea. The compass and magnifying glass really work, and the little field book is thread-bound and has a substantial number of pages. The bag is quite sturdy and can fit all of the small items at once. The science fair project board is super sturdy and will easily stand on its own.
The set was obviously well-researched - for example, the project board mentions that Pachycephalosaurus did NOT headbutt, according to the most recent theories. I really appreciate this. The journal pages are a whole book of their own.
While the science fair board suggests the dinos should be a Parasaurolophus, a Triceratops, and a Pachycephalosaurus, my third dinosaur is a Dilophosaurus, not a Pach. I don't mind this but some might be confused. I am told this will be fixed in future releases.
Finally, one of my dinosaurs came broken, and Maplelea sent me a new one. The customer service of this company truly is unparalleled.
