1.  Social Media Specialist/Content Creator

Full-time, Permanent

We’re looking for a story-driven Digital Media Specialist who can capture the hearts of parents and doll enthusiasts. You’ll plan, produce, and analyze engaging content that tells the stories of our doll characters, our brand, our business, and Canada itself — through words, images, and video.

 

Responsibilities

  • Identify and share the stories that make Maplelea a uniquely Canadian company — from the people behind the scenes to the heritage that inspires our dolls.
  • Film, edit and manage highly engaging videos, reels, and images for Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Pinterest
  • Write clear, compelling captions, hooks, headlines, posts, and blogs that showcase Canadian culture, geography, and history through the Maplelea lens.
  • Analyze performance metrics and engagement to continually improve reach and impact.
  • Collaborate directly with the Founder/President to shape storytelling strategies and promotional campaigns on multiple platforms, including email.
  • Help keep our website up to date with constantly changing product images, content and promotions.
  • Communicate directly with customers and fans through online responses.

 

Qualifications

  • Creativity, curiosity, and initiative — someone who sees stories everywhere, and can capture authentic, behind-the-scenes moments that resonate. A natural storyteller with a passion for Canada — its people, places, and heritage.
  • Excellent writing skills and impeccable English.
  • Strong video filming and editing skills (Reels, short-form content, etc.).
  • Experience with current digital platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, Klaviyo, Shopify, etc.).
  • Understanding of content strategy, community engagement, and visual branding.
  • Expertise in product photography, including lighting techniques.
  • Educational background in, or significant knowledge of, Canadian history, geography, and culture.
  • Familiarity with scheduling, analytics, KPIs, content tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite, Canva, and similar), and email marketing,
  • Must live locally and work in-office in Newmarket, Ontario.
