My first experience with Maplelea was as a child in 2006 begging for one after a catalogue was included in one of my magazine subscriptions. After “growing up” (we’re all kids at heart, at least a little) and unpacking my old dolls I found myself reminiscing about the brand and decided to make the jump and purchase a new one. I was worried that, like so many other brands, attempts to keep the dolls affordable while keeping the business running would have led to cost cutting measures in the production of the dolls and clothes. I am enthused to say that that is not the case, the quality remains! If anything I would say they’ve only gotten better. The colours of this dolls’s eyes are rich and multidimensional and the skin tone is vibrant and filled with colour that seems to bring the doll almost to life! And the HAIR!!! The curls are beautiful and the tone of the black hair is so different from my Saila’s hair, though both colours are truly beautiful the variance of colour made me so happy! I am absolutely in love with my doll and have created such an in depth story for her I may have gone a bit overboard, but I can guarantee she will be a good friend of mine and of my Saila and Brianne for a long long time.
