This special edition doll was created in celebration of Camp Tanamakoon's centennial year.

For 100 years Camp Tanamakoon in Ontario's beautiful Algonquin Park has provided leadership opportunities, environmental education, and traditional camp experiences to generations of girls. The fun and friendship has created life-long memories of time well-spent.

From vintage photos and written memories, Maplelea create a camp uniform exactly like the first campers would have worn a hundred years ago, right down to the garters under the bloomers that held up those over-the-knee-socks!

Short bob hairstyles were popular at the time, but girls often emulated the look by wearing a hairband in camp green and rolling up their long hair in a tight horizontal bun at the back of their neck.  (Note: CT-KMF51 will have her natural curls and will not be styled into the horizontal bun.)

Camp Tanamakoon doll

The doll and outfit look great but nothing has yet been removed from the box yet as it is a Christmas gift. The hair roll looks slightly messed but should be fixable. I hope that Maplelea will consider producing more vintage-look clothing and accessories. (The footwear especially that you produce are spectacularly detailed!) Have you thought about a CGIT middy? (Canadian Girls in Training was like a Canadian answer to Girl Guides.) More cultural celebratory clothing and accessories would be interesting, too; for example, a Metis sash, moccasins, and a fur trader capote would be wonderful to celebrate Festival du Voyageur in Winnipeg and would also celebrate fur trading history across Canada. What about something related to Bonhomme de neige in Quebec? What about more Inuit and First Nations inspired clothing? (Saila is a number one favourite in my collection!)

Beautiful doll!

Such meticulous detail! The more closely you look, the more impressive the work is. I'm enjoying this doll very much.
