Pioneer quebecoise outfit

The outfit is beautifully made and fits really well, but I was disappointed in the stitched on shoe buckles

Wonderful details

This is another fantastic outfit for Leonie. My niece is learning about her Canadian heritage and the Quebecoise outfit has been on her wish list since we got her Leonie. The pieces are beautifully sewn. The mantelet is lined and fits Leonie to a T. The skirt is nicely full and so is the chemise. From the bonnet to the shoes, Leonie looks ready to be a pioneer.

great period piece

The star of this set is that mantalet/jacket. It is made of thick textured fabric with a full satin lining; the laces are sturdy and the construction is up to Maplelea's impressive standard. The shirt is thin but very historically accurate, long enough to be a nightshirt. Of course I wish the shoes had real buckets rather than stitched ones, but they are still nice shoes. The skirt is really pretty and also of thick material. My bonnet was a bit flattened from sitting in the box for, probably, years, but it might be my favorite piece after the jacket - there's even a tiny bow at the back! You also get A LOT in this set. The pieces in this set can be easily mix-and-matched with outfits from the 1700s and 1800s - for instance, the apron and bonnet look lovely with a Little House of the Prairie dress I have, and the skirt can even be part of a modern outfit.
