Living in the North means bundling up when venturing outdoors in the winter! Saila stays warm in her traditionally designed parka, purple snowpants and winter boots. Her parka has so many details; a full quilted lining, luxurious faux fur around the collar and cuffs, zipper, plus it is made of the same fabric as real parkas. There are four lines of decorative stitching on the front seams and real pockets. Three lines of grosgrain ribbon are individually stitched around the bottom edge and the cuffs. The bottom edge of the parka curves down in the front and back, and the sleeves are extra long to cover the hands just like real parkas made by Inuit in Canada's Arctic.
The snowpants are lined and padded, have a velcro closure and elastic at the waist to aid in fitting and are designed to fit over leggings or thin pants. The boots have elastic laces can be adjusted so that the boot will easily fit the foot of any 18 inch doll. In the included journal pages, Saila describes the challenges of living in a place with permafrost where the ground is "permanently frozen" all year round.
This snowsuit is truly an exquisite item--easy to play with, but eagerly sought by collectors for its exceptional detail!
