Oh what fun we had at the Girl Expo!

Girl Expo Canada 2019 was a fun-filled day with so much to see and learn and do! Girls were able to try sports that may be new to them, like ringette, basketball and hockey and try agility skills.
Thanks to a booth exhibiting really cool special effects make-up, a number of girls ended up with very gruesome looking wounds--luckily, they were all fake!

Energetic music and a DJ provided lots of opportunities to get up and dance.

Our fabulous Maplelea fans did a great job on the Flash Mob dance to the 'Real Canadian Girl' song, much to the delight of the crowd.

There was an awesome panel of inspiring women who each spoke about their careers and how they got there, which was hosted by Spencer Litzinger, Host of YTV's The Zone. The panel included a successful costume designer (you can see two of her costumes in the photo) and Olympic Gold Medalist in Hockey, Sami Jo Small!

Girls were thrilled to meet Sami Jo and to see close-up the Gold Medal she won playing goalie in the Olympics.

Maplelea Founder, Kathryn Morton, was interviewed by young reporters from TS TV!
There were many booths with products and books that empowered girls to discover a world of possibilities. Maplelea Girls were even invited on stage to join in the creation of a musical recording. There were musical instruments to play, science projects to try, art projects to create, and robotics to operate.

Some real chefs were on hand to teach the yummy art of pasta making.
At the Maplelea exhibit many attendees enjoyed the opportunity to see and touch  displays of Maplelea product. All in all, it was a very energetic, thought-provoking, educational and fun day!
