Granville Island Groovy

Granville Island Groovy

Item #KC21

When visiting Vancouver, Charlsea and her family love to visit the Public Market on Granville Island. On one such visit she happened upon a tie-dye workshop, where she created a one-of-a-kind cotton tie-dyed sundress. She loves pairing her creation with some purple flip-flops and a daisy-chain headband. You too can learn how to tie-dye by following the instructions in the included journal pages.

Pros and Cons of Granville Island Groovy

August 29, 2016

Granville Island Groovy is one of the most adorable outfits yet! I can tell you that you won't be disappointed. The headband fits around Charlsea's head snugly without worrying that it'll fall off...and it's beautiful to boot. It's thick wire that doesn't bend or break easily, with green fabric wrapped around it. The pollon in the middle of the flowers is soft and the white petals are the same fabric as the stuff wrapped around the wire.

The dress is the softest dress I have ever felt! The material is soft and light...perfect for summer months, but is not thin or stretchy. The dress is actually really tie dyed and the coulors look magnificent on Charlsea. Suits her very well. Since the dress is actually tie dyed, each one looks different. Mine is violet, midnight blue, sky blue, teal, light green, and a splotch of yellow. It's short, but lots of people wear short dresses in the summer.

The flip flops are adorably tiny!! The are purple with a light purple plastic strip for the front part. On the back there is a plastic strip to keep the shoe on. The tidal wave pattern on the shoes fit Charlsea's personality perfectly! They are easy to put on and seem to be very sturdy, without breaking easily, or being a challenge to put on...perfect for the summer months. I really enjoyed this package and give it a five stars. I love it!

This outfit is so cute and adorable. Blue and green are my favourite colours and the pop of yellow makes it even more fun. And we can not forget the flower crown. Sooooo cute!!!

I love love love it. Dress has beautiful colors. I like that it is short because you can wear pants underneath and it looks like a shirt!!! The headband is a hit. It is really really pretty. The flip flops have really nice swirly patterns that look like the tide, which suits Charlsea very well!! An awesome buy. I love, love, love it!

Not as great as expected

First off, I do think this outfit is quite cute looking on Charlsea. I like the vibrant colours. My favourite part is the flower headband; it is very nicely made. However, I was a bit disappointed with the dress. I find it a little short, and it should either be a bit longer, or come with shorts to wear underneath. Also, the fabric is not what I was expecting. It's a very thin, soft, stretchy fabric. While it's easy to get on, it was extremely wrinkled coming out of the box and hasn't seemed to improve with wear. The flip flops look cute, and seem to be made out of sturdy material, but are challenging to put on. The thick base has no give to it, so getting the clear plastic over the ankle (with the fear of pulling too hard and wrecking it) wasn't easy. After receiving it, I feel it's priced too high for essentially one thin piece of clothing with two little accessories. (I don't usually feel that way about Maplelea clothes.)
